Volunteer at CCGT

If you have an interest in green buildings, design or education, and enjoy working with the public, consider becoming a volunteer at the Chicago Center for Green Technology.

Volunteers at CCGT have a great opportunity to learn about the latest advances in green buildings, technology, and sustainable products and practices. As a CCGT volunteer you'll:

Network with local green professionals;
Give guided tours of our LEED^® Platinum building to students and professional groups;
Assist visitors in the Resource Center researching local green issues and products;
and more.

Volunteer opportunities require a minimum commitment of a few hours per week for three months.

Volunteer Spotlight: Mike Chapman

Kudos and a huge ‘thank you’ to our spotlight volunteer, Mike Chapman!

Mike joined our team in January of 2012 as our volunteer webmaster. He wanted to use his programming powers for good and give us some help while learning more about the world of sustainability and new software.

Mike has been an incredible help to CCGT staff who know just enough about our website to be able to add things, but not enough to make it all look uniform and orderly (a dangerous combination!). While getting our website ready for all of the new GTU changes, Mike was available by phone and email if an emergency came up. He always addressed our needs right away and often would go through the new web pages in the evening to reformat and make them match.

We thankful for Mike and all his hard work!
